MUSICIAN / ACTIVIST / TEACHER / LANDSCAPE DESIGNER

Adrian uses visual art, songwriting, landscape design, and video to weave together ideas around ecology, reciprocity, environmental justice, and individual + community healing.

After growing up in Toronto, Canada, Adrian relocated to Los Angeles in 2000. She began playing music in bands in high school, writing and recording music for various bands including her solo project, Badlands. Adrian earned her Bachelor’s in Fine Art from CalArts (2009), a certificate in horticulture from Pierce College (2012), and her Master’s in Landscape Architecture from Cal Poly Pomona (2021).

In 2019 she co-founded the Cal Poly Pomona Climate Action Community and worked with students, staff, and faculty to make changes to dismantle white-supremacist culture within the Department of Landscape Architecture (2020-2021). Adrian collaborated with the Tataviam Land Conservancy on her capstone project, Living Creek, Thriving Community earning a Culminating Experience Award from the Department of Landscape Architecture at Cal Poly Pomona. She is also Cal Poly’s MLA 2021 LAF Olmsted Scholar and a 2021 ASLA Honor Award recipient. Adrian is currently a designer at TERREMOTO’s Los Angeles office where she manages landscape projects and consults for the Tataviam Land Conservancy, the Tongva Taraxat Paxaavxa Land Conservancy, and Acjachemen Tongva Land Conservancy on #LandBack projects in the Los Angeles region.
